Business activities
LaVision GmbH in Germany is one of the world-leading
companies manufacturing PIV systems including both hardware and
software. Founded in 1989 as a university spin-off LaVision has
specialised in optical laser-based diagnostic systems for flow and
combustion applications. With strong ties to numerous university
and other research groups – being part of many national and
international projects – the task of LaVision has been to
transfer the latest state-of-the-art experimental techniques into
commercial products of high quality and ease-to-use. In the last
few years LaVision has applied and modified the PIV technique, which
has been originally been developed for aerodynamic measurements,
to small scale applications like investigation of inside combustion
engine flow using specialised miniature endoscope optics and investigation
of micro-scale blood flow in micro-channels („µPIV“). |
